Why this matters for IPOs
Issue open and close dates, the basis of allotment, the refund and the listing all fall on working days. A holiday in the middle of an IPO shifts everything after it, and the registrar reissues the schedule when that happens. If an allotment date on this site looks a day out around a holiday, check the registrar's own notice.
Muhurat trading
On Diwali the exchanges run a special one-hour evening session. It is a full trading session — trades settle normally — and the timing is announced each year rather than fixed.
