0 tracked · updated 19 Sept 2026, 1:29 am IST
An offer for sale is an existing shareholder — usually a promoter or the government — selling shares on the exchange through a separate window, with a floor price below which bids are not accepted. It raises no new money for the company; the proceeds go to the seller.

What is the floor price in an OFS?
The minimum price at which bids are accepted. Bids below it are rejected; the eventual allotment price depends on the bids received.
